This town was designated by UNESCO as the World\u00a0 Heritage site in 1993.\u00a0 We\u2019ll visit landmarks such is the Old and New Castles, the Holy Trinity Square, Mining Museum,\u00a0 \u201cKlopacka\u201d\u00a0 tower and other historic sites.<\/p>\n<p>Dinner &amp; overnight stay in Banska Stiavnica<strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.enjoyslovakiasoul.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/vlkolinec-unesco.jpg\"><br \/>\n<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/www.enjoyslovakiasoul.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/757283-obec-vlkolinec-pamiatka-unesco-www.vyhodykariet.sk_.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft\" title=\"vlkolinec\" src=\"http:\/\/www.enjoyslovakiasoul.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/757283-obec-vlkolinec-pamiatka-unesco-www.vyhodykariet.sk_-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.enjoyslovakiasoul.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/757283-obec-vlkolinec-pamiatka-unesco-www.vyhodykariet.sk_.jpg\"><\/a><span style=\"color: #800080;\">DAY 3 \u2013<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #800080;\"> <strong>Vlkolinec Village, Stara Lubovna, Bardejov<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Breakfast and transfer to Vlkolinec Village, an outdoor museum of regional architecture from 16th to 19th century.\u00a0 Village has over 40 historic houses, some of them still occupied. Vlkolinec is designated as a\u00a0world\u2019s heritage site by UNESCO.<\/p>\n<p>Lunch and Break in the traditional Slovak restaurant \u201cSalas\u201c (Salas\u00a0 Krajinka).<\/p>\n<p>Transfer to Bardejov, stopping in Stara Lubovna, a beautiful historic town dating back to 13th century. It is dominated by its castle on the hill above the town. Another point of interest is\u00a0<em>Lubovnansky skanzen<\/em> \u2013 an open air musem of historic houses showing the traditional architecture of the region.<\/p>\n<p>Transfer, dinner and overnight stay in Bardejov.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>DAY 4<\/strong> &#8211;\u00a0<strong>Bardejov, Kosice<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Breakfast, followed by a\u00a0tour of Bardejov, UNESCO\u2019s World Heritage Site. One of the main landmarks is the St. Aegidius Cathedral, completed in 15<sup>th<\/sup> century. It contains priceless eleven Gothic altars with original panel paintings. The picturesque central square is surrounded by well-preserved Gothic and Renaissance burgher\u2019s houses. Other historic landmarks are the town hall &#8211; built in 1505, fortification system and town walls dating back to 14<sup>th<\/sup> and 15<sup>th<\/sup> centuries, small Jewish quarter with 18<sup>th<\/sup>century synagogue and more.<\/p>\n<p>Transfer to Kosice &#8211; the second largest city in Slovakia, located in eastern part of the country on the river Hornad.\u00a0 Majority of historic landmarks are located around Main Street, one of the most visited is Slovakia\u2019s largest church, the 14the century St. Elisabeth Cathedral.\u00a0 Other nearby landmarks are St. Michael Chapel, St. Urban Tower and the neo-baroque State Theater in the center of town.<\/p>\n<p>Dinner &amp; overnight stay \u00a0in Kosice.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.enjoyslovakiasoul.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/49894.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft\" title=\"cave\" src=\"http:\/\/www.enjoyslovakiasoul.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/49894.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/><\/a><span style=\"color: #800080;\">DAY 5<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #800080;\"> &#8211;\u00a0<strong>Slovak Karst, Dobsinska Ice Cave &amp; Ochtinska Aragonite Cave<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Breakfast, then \u00a0transfer to Slovak Karst (<em>Slovensky kras<\/em>) \u2013 a mountain range in the Cartpathians in southern Slovakia, consisting of a complex and huge karst plains and plateaus.<\/p>\n<p>Lunch break in the beautiful surroundings of the Slovak Karst.<\/p>\n<p>Visit to\u00a0<em>Dobsinska Ice Cave<\/em> and\u00a0<em>Ochtinska Aragonite Cave<\/em>, both included in the UNESCO World Heritage list. Dobsinska Cave was discovered in 1870, it is apx. 1,480 meters long of which 515 meters are open to public from May to September.<\/p>\n<p>Ochtinska Aragonite Cave is a unique aragonite cave, only about 300 meters long but famous for its rare aragonite clusters. Town is located in the historic region of Spis. Many historic landmarks are located within the town\u2019s ancient fortified walls. Master Paul\u2019s Town square boasts the Old Town Hall, Evangelical Lutheran Church (1837) and the 14th century Roman Catholic Church of St. James, housing a magnificently carved and painted wooden Gothic altar, the largest in Europe.<\/p>\n<p>The Spis Castle is the next stop, it is one of the largest castle sites in Central Europe. The castle is situated above the town of Spi\u0161sk\u00e9 Podhradie.\u00a0 Spis Castle was built in the 12th century on the site of an earlier castle.
